"Yes ma'am," I say with pleasure.
I change heading to 338 and form up on the squad leader's wing, accelerating to keep up with her.
"Alrighty," I say to my squad leader, a little less pleasured as Jacov, noticing truly that I am killing my ex-allies.

i do what jacov did in second line

The missile cackles past and explodes harmlessly out of range.

"That's one! Mjolnir 1-4, resuming task!"

Free to attack the encroaching hostiles once more, I dive down on a convoy of wheeled vehicles and strafe it with my guns.

You do that and several vehicles are disabled. One explodes and kills the stuff out of some nearby infantry.

"[Too close..]"

I aim for the transport trucks and dive back in, releasing my remaining 14 rockets and an extended burst of gunfire at them before pulling out to medium altitude. "This is Mjolnir 1-2, I'm out of rockets." I manually drop the empty pods from the wings.

Like ten trucks are now completely out of action and eight more have been disabled. Also some really unlucky guy got crushed by the rocket pods.

"Shouldn't have wasted rockets on transports. Those are easy to take down with cannon fire. Rockets should be reserved for armor."
Obrad locks onto an IFV, firing an AGM, then cannon fire at a transport.

Just gonna ignore the plane screaming at you huh.
Just gonna.
Do exactly what Deoxys did.
And ignore the SAM.
Which I pointed out.
And instantly shot him down for.
Okay.
You fire the AGM and the IFV is turned into a lot of fire and shrapnel. As you fire at the transports with your cannons half of your plane is suddenly not connected to the part you are sitting in. This is important because it now means you are more or less just sitting in a roosterpit. With no power plant. Or wings.
Jesus christ guys come on.

Targets to keep in mind:
-Approx. 20x Challengers
-11x Warrior IFVs
-42x Armored Cars
-21x Transport Trucks

The communications officer comes over the line. "Mjolnir wing, the armor column will be in firing range soon. Disable or stall the enemy as much as you are able. Commander says ground forces are still recovering."

So uh.

If I pack up right now and join the guys, what's my ETA?

I dunno man how fast do you think you can get across the planet.
Probably about 2-3 hours if you wanna burn wet or something. It'll leave you with low fuel.

hey skype isn't working for me right now so yeah

Obrad ejects, attempting to rejoin with ground forces.

I look over my shoulder in time to see the Lightning II bite the dirt. We're down two fighters, but at least everyone managed to eject safely. This might get a little dicey.

"Flight lead's taken a hit! Basket, you're second in command!"

I fly over a charging row of Challenger tanks and fire along the length of the formation with rockets, carefully spacing the reticle in front to lead the targets.

"Damn it, Cowboy, get away from the airspace above the advancing forces and watch my back."

"AWACS, this is Mjolnir 1-2, pinpoint my location and relay those coordinates to friendly artillery, on my mark." I look out the canopy and take a deep breath, watching the armored column roll down. I bank towards the armored column in a high-speed dive. "Mark!"

The Hornet soars directly above the enemy column- at low altitude, and enemy gunfire whistles past the canopy as I max out the throttle.

You do that and a few Challengers are hit and disabled. The most important part is that tracks are blown out, and the armor column's forward movement is significantly reduced as a result. This is important.
Suddenly the AWACS officer tells you to clear the forget out, which you do.

"H-hey you can't do something so ra-"
The very-twelve sounding AWACS communications officer is cut off by her very not-twelve sounding partner. "Understood, Mjolnir 1-2. Coordinates received, relaying information to the artillery teams now."
The information from the AWACS is relayed to the grounds communications officer, who you can still hear. Understanding her is a different matter, as she rapidly belts off orders in Kintharian. Within a minute, the artillery teams are ready to fire, the massive bores on the barrels glistening in the clear day. Giving Mjolnir time to clear out of the way, Arashi Team "Shiroi Akuma" is fully prepared to fire the highly accurate artillery they have access to.
And so they do.
Four Mach-Class 115mm cannons begin their firing sequences, barrels slamming backwards as the shells are thrown thousands of meters into the air. Before the shells even reach the apex of their arc, the empty casings are blown out backwards, kicking up dust, and another volley is tossed into the air. This repeats another three times, at one shot per second, resulting in twenty shells being thrown into the air by the time the first ones reached the height of their arcs.
The shells land, starting from the front of the armor column, and working their way backwards, pounding the ever-living forget out of anything still in their path. Challengers are struck and reduced to wreckages, armored cars are flipped, transports become 50% charred metal and 50% charred flesh, IFVs are blown apart and their munitions scattered. A message from the artillery team is relayed back to you.
"We've got another 20 shells already loaded, if you need another barrage just say the word."
Considering where there was once an armor column now looks like a moonscape, that's not a difficult call to make.

Targets to keep in mind:
Incoming armor column
-6x Challengers (Heavily damaged)
-3x Warrior IFVs (Heavily damaged)
-12x Armored Cars (Moderately damaged)
-9x Transport Trucks (Like half of their crews are dead anyways)

The armor column looks like it's pulling a retreat.

Kintharia best country none bester.

Oh god I thought you were some random alt who just came in here.

Warning alarms go off as I climb from that maneuver, I shut them off as the bullet-ridden Hornet flies back towards the defense line. "AWACS, I'm going in for another pass, track my location and altitude." I dive right back in at the enemy, passing over them in the same manner as before. My right air intake eats a few bullets, blowing out the right engine and forcing me to roll to the right to pull out at the end of the pass with the warning alarms beeping even more loudly than before.

"Mjolnir 1-2 here, I've taken heavy damage, I should be able to hold out a bit longer, but I need directions to the nearest friendly airstrip."

Flying near the squad leader's advanced fighter boosts your missile range significantly. You are now able to pick out your targets and fire before the enemy even gets the chance to lock on to you. Allocate your 12 missiles now.
(As in, how many missiles do you want to fire at each enemy? Due to limitations of your targeting computer, you can lock on to no more than 8 different craft. Later planes will be able to support more locks.)

Enemy craft requiring attention:
15x Chengdu J-10

Enemy craft not requiring attention:
3x Chengdu J-20
