"Well there's me."
Captain Yamashiro Homura is standing behind you, leaning on the wall. "Impressive shooting. For somebody who should be fighting with their plane and not their small arms you seem quite experienced." Her pistol is holstered at her side, her expression being rather flat for her compliment.
"That was fast."
Simon takes out the empty magazine.
"Don't, uh, mind the bruises."
Simon inserts the second magazine.
"Thanks by the way."
He makes sure the magazine is secured.
"I know it's weird-"
Tchick-tchak
"-I actually never wanted to join the Air Force"

"Funny. I never wanted to join the military at all. Looks like neither of us got what we wanted."
She unholsters her pistol, pulling the slide back and locking it, checking the emptied chamber.

Simon peeks over his shoulder at the captain.
"That's a- fourty five high power, right?"

"Five-seven Tsuyoi Shougeki rounds, actually."
She slides the magazine into the gun and unlocks the slide with a strangely elegant motion. She flips the gun in her hand and holsters it again, patiently watching.

Nah, I can't. I don't feel comfortable writing for his characters outside of little joking conversations.

its fine man, you can write for them if you want
i don't think any of the huit players even read posts anyway except for hurricane, who has apparently fallen off the face of the planet

Ding.

I'm actually having kind of a hard time keeping up with the RP between real life and there being five new pages to read every hour.

Simon raises the rifle up, assuming the same shooting position he did before.
"100 to 90 meters again, this time with moving targets. Surprise me."
A paper target flips up on the extreme right of the 100m line and starts to zoom towards the other end of the line. Simon changes the rifle to semi-automatic operation and shoots the target once in the center of mass.

A computerized voice squaks at me from the dispenser.
"324ms from target pop-up to shot... accurate shot to the center of mass, not bad..."

Additional targets pop up- most shots land directly in the center of mass, one or two hit the outliers of the target, and only one shot missed completely.

Out of 15 targets 14 shots landed- and all in the space of around 20 seconds. That's actually really good.

"I was actually a competition shooter in the JMP groups we had when we were young. They're like, programs in high school that prepare you for military service and the draft. You don't really get a choice to enter in the program- it's mandatory for all males and females over the age of twelve. Not like anyone actually has a choice to join the military anyways, so any prior experience will help. I just happened to be the best forgetin' shot in my outfit."

I would glady do more stuff if me sam commander guy can into existence.

I listen to a South Aesthian broadcast while the new engines are installed on the Hornet, one of the technicians in the hangar comments about how they were originally replacements for a Mercanan Super Hornet, and that the engines had more bang for your buck while being more fuel efficient. The engines would probably let me get up to maximum speed faster with the vastly improved thrust.

I sigh and continue to calibrate the new electronics that came with the package.

"So I hear." Yamashiro puts a hand on your shoulder and gently pushes you out of the way, preparing her pistol.
"100 meters, surprise me."

A target flips up at the far left at 100 meters, and another in a split second at the other end. Yamashiro twitches her arm, planting a bullet firmly in the center of mass on the left target, switching to the second target and putting two rounds into that one. Another quick, blurred shift has her fire a second shot into the left target by the time the shell of the second shot lands. By the time she reaches the sixth target, her slide locks back, and she drops the magazine without skipping a beat. A target rapidly slides across the gallery, and a split second before it goes down, she places a shot firmly in the center of mass.
Seven targets, thirteen hits.

A computerized voice gives the results.
"Average 259 milliseconds from target popup to shot. 11 shots to center of mass, 1 shot to neck, 1 headshot."
Homura lowers her gun, sliding out the partially-empty magazine and roostering the slide back, ejecting the round. She looks over at you, unlocking the slide on her gun and holstering it.
"Competition shooting? How many competitions did you win?"

"Competition shooting? How many competitions did you win?"
"I think out of the 16 something competitions they held over 8 years, I won around 15 of them. Most of them weren't snap shooting, they were based around outdoors long range shots. The province I came from- New Hesse- is a very flat and windy place. There aren't any mountains, and there are hardly any hills- there's only one forest in the whole 150,000 square kilometer state, so you can see pretty far off. The shortest range was around 500m, the longest was out to about 2.5-3km."
