Author Topic: Can a forumer who speaks German translate this for me? (Old letter from WWII)  (Read 1409 times)

Greetings forumers! I have a lot of WWII era stuff, including a bunch of old letters and stamps from national socialist Germany. I have this post card, and wanted to know if anyone could translate it. It says "Heil Riddler" at the end, which I thought was interesting.

I am sorry if this offends anyone, I did not post it with the intention of doing that, I posted this with the intention of learning about a piece of history.

(If you need better pics let me know)

I can't really read it... at all. And my grasp of German is limited but I might be able to understand some things.

I can read german but I can't read cursive.

Nice

Can you scan them so it's clearer?
Or shine a light on it when taking the pics.

Maybe take clearer pictures?
I dunno, I guess they're already pretty clear, but...

It appears to be pencil that is fading, but I'll get a few better pictures up in a bit

scanning them might work better

The preparations for the invasion of the Soviet Union are nearly complete. What we delay for, at the moment, are more loyal commanders.

Hopefully you are up to the task.

Heil Riddler

I would actually love the know the real answer
