i don't see the big deal. if they had come out and said "THAT'S RIGHT THEY'RE WOMEN. TAKE THAT MISOGYNIST PIGS! SHOUTOUT TO ANDREA DWORKIN" there'd be a problem. but if they're remaking it with women it's obviously not a shot-for-shot remake. it sounds more like a reboot. what if women were the ghostbusters? this is probably one of many changes they'll make to create a new story.

If they were being their own thing it'd just get written off as a gimmick. Any Ghostbusters sequel would sell plenty on its own so I don't see how making them all women is going to massively boost box office turnouts.

There are still 4 female lead roles regardless of whether it's for monetary purposes or not. There's not even legit proof that this is even gimmicky anyways.
