You mean don't make a Government Surveillance/NSA, Anti/Pro-Abortion Thread, LGBT rights, GMOs, Gun-Control, Pro-Left/Pro-Right, Immigration, Valve vs EA, feminism, tumblr, threads.

actually i think i meant "don't make threads"

no the earth is round
so you are going to teach your children that the earth is round, because thats what you believe.

mainly people who don't give a stuff about religion
thats because those people dont believe in god. So christians target those people. Whats he point in evangelizing to someone who already believes in god.

so you are going to teach your children that the earth is round, because thats what you believe.

your brown townogy doesn't work because this is a proven fact and not a belief

and at least where i live (idk about other places in the US) parents generally let their kids develop their own opinions and beliefs, forcing them on children is rather silly because as soon as they've moved out if they genuinely don't believe in it they won't follow it so why push it

thats weird.

christian parents teach their children to be christians because they believe its the correct religion. Not cos they want their children to have the same special interest as them. If you believed that the earth was flat, wouldn you teach your children the earth was flat? Also a true christian loves God and is so happy and excited about god, that they want to share that love and happiness with as many people as they can.
You wouldn't literally force them to be Christian, you would try to teach them if you were a good parent.

thats because those people dont believe in god. So christians target those people. Whats he point in evangelizing to someone who already believes in god.

it's common sense that if you're going to constantly preach about how god definitely exists to a person who definitely does not believe, you're only going to end up annoying them. let people believe whatever they want.

Likewise, few knew of the Earth's roundness.  Should we then expect that God will become known to all as fact?

I think that what you said starts a very daring train of logic.

Honestly the only forget I give about christians saying the old testament doesn't matter anymore is that many of Christians still continue to cite OT law in statements about things such as homoloveuality and others. It's there for them when they do like it, but as soon as they don't like it, "Oh, the Old Testament doesn't apply any more" It's just another example of cherry picking

yeah using old testament stuff without new testament support is kinda crappy

your brown townogy doesn't work because this is a proven fact and not a belief

It is commonly accepted, but we only know that because of eyewitness accounts of astronauts and photographs.

We kind of do have to believe that the Earth is round because everyone else believes it and it appears to be true.

there are PICTURES of the earth being round
it's commonly accepted because it's taught in schools because it has been proven to be correct. people have sailed around the world and not fallen off. it would be physically impossible for the earth to be flat.

there are not pictures, theorems, laws, anything that prove the existence or nonexistence of a deity

i'm not taking sides i'm just pointing out a flaw in his logic

You wouldn't literally force them to be Christian, you would try to teach them if you were a good parent.
my parents didnt force we. They raised me to be a christian. They didnt sit me down at a table and say "You wil be a christian!" They sat me down and said "God is great! He is an incredible being who loves you!" They showed me how amazing godd was, and I chose to believe in him.

there is a verse in the bible that says something like this, "Preach to the non believers, but if they refuse to listen to you, and demand that you leave them be, then leave that place and shake the sand from your feet."
Basically dont be a persistent starfish and get up in peoples face. Leave the  be if you cant help them see the light.

ok, I see what your at. To us christians, god is a fact, the flood is a fact, the crucifixion is a fact, the whole bible is a fact. There for we teach it like a fact. Just as atheists teach the big bang as a fact.

Just as aheist teach the big bang as a fact.
I didn't know heists could teach.

just to be nitpicky the big bang is presented as a theory (suggested as true) and while it is commonly accepted it isn't taught as a fact. a better example of what you're trying to say would be evolution i guess. nvm thats a theory too, gravity would be better

i still think it's silly to teach opinions as facts but whatever i guess that's my opinion and i shouldn't teach it as a fact
