Yeah the game is stupidly easy
Like I play hardcore in single player and the challenge isn't there, once you understand how to kite you can take down military bases or even burywood with nothing but fists, gets even easier when you get a melee weapon with good reach and learn the most basic recipies (clothes > cloth, bullets + clip > full clip, etc). After that only grinding for high level loot, you can also build but I don't find much use for bases, esp single player.

Building is rubbish because if you ever leave for supplies its broken by the time you get back. Its better to just place a trap in front of a house door and jump in through the window.

Well your problem is that you are building to close to zombie spawns, build away from them.

i took the time to make two wide bridges everywhere with small buildings with loot caches in case i never need them, and i've got two apc's and four humvee's, half of each camo. :l and basically the entire military base is my base, i build above it and reach it from the top of the hangar.
