I was outside last night and I saw a huge jet-shaped craft sleek across the sky, it seemed to be golden at first, then faded into red and green, then turned back to golden and rushed past the horizon.

It could be a meteor/comet, but...
Eh.
I'm thinking it was a hypersonic jet based on it's shape.

While I'd rather say it's a UFO, more than likely it's a military plane. It could, however, be a regular passenger aircraft (which can have speeds of 400 mph in some cases), that has its lights on (while I'd really like to say what kinds, like NAV, landing, beacon, or others, I can't).

Passenger planes/military planes don't move that fast, and they don't glow like the beacon of the heavens.
Also it technically IS a UFO because nobody has identified it yet. (properly)
