OC megathread - why

I feel like the obsession with anthropomorphic fictional characters is because you all feel betrayed by humans in general and wouldn't want to affiliate with them anymore, but still feel more comfortable with human features because, being human, you still would like things to be familiar.

That's my guess because honestly I don't understand it.

I want to tell you that's too deep but at the same time it's all too likely because I know I'm prone to similar feelings.
Also, while I'm in here and Inkscape is open, sure, why not.

This face has actually been done for a while I was working on other parts of the piece so I might have posted it before, but hey, whatever.

My second guess was because its loveually arousing, like primal beastial instincts , and we're looking to explore that through fantasies; but tbh I would rather prefer my first guess.

idk how much it actually has to do with being a furry, but I don't like playing as obvious humans in games
like, in modern shooter games like battlefield or call of duty, I prefer the player models that have their face covered, or something, you know??
and in TES I almost always pick one of the beast races. and in blockland, my character is always wearing the helmet with an opaque color for the mask
idk what's up with all that. I don't have any issues with real humans. it's just in games :/

furries are hot. that's part of why I like them, no sense in denying that. but they're also attractive, in non-loveual ways, too. which I imagine has something to do with all the stuff I just talked about

I technically have one too of a character from one of my first few short stories, it's just unpainted, chipped, and I have no idea where it is.
I should head out sometime and buy some real ass clay now that I'm probably more competent at sculpting than I was when I was 14.

For me its like, when I think of something original, something that isn't human is what comes to mind to me.
there's also the fact that when you make an OC, you can make it whatever you want, so why stay a human? why not be some mix of other animals and a human to make something that to you would be amazing to be and see in real life?
