i don't think it's Israel's fault that Palestinian military assets suck huge richard.
Along this line of thought:

If a small kid tries to fight you, you don't fight back. They can't really hurt you, but you can hurt them. This brown townogy does not work for war/battle. Rockets can and do kill people. If somebody attempts to kill you, you don't use an equally bad weapon to make it fair, you don't just ignore them because you are bigger, you flex your military muscles and hit them harder. You hit them harder and hope they will stop. Does anyone actually believe that if Israel used trash missiles to retaliate there would be less conflict? There might be less immediate deaths, but you wouldn't be doing much to scare people out of terrorism.

LGBT, DrugWar, Israeli attacked, Hamas... either this thread has turned into /pol/ or it was the jews all along!
/pol/ can be decent sometimes though.
It depends on the thread you're in. If you're in a "give me two good things black people have done" thread of course it's gonna be extremist racism.
But if you're in a "so what's your opinion on the Palestinian Liberation Organization" thread you might get reasonable discussion.

So basically the Hamas is like a guy that shoots a nerf dart in your face, then Israel pulls out a 12 guage and blows the kids head off and says that the was defending himself.
More like Hamas is a guy who shoots a 12 gauge shotgun at your face, but was too poor to buy real ammo and only a nerf dart comes out, so Israel pulls out a real 12 gauge and blows Hamas' head off before they actually get real ammunition.

If you think anything /pol/ says is reasonable, you are most likely somewhat antisemitic.

I understand that /pol/ is politics, but everytime I see or hear about /pol/ I just think about polish people all yelling at each other about 70-80 year old problems with the germans.

They're all terrorists let them kill each other off.

I think the issue people have is that 80% of those killed by said "military muscle" are civilians. One in five are children.

That's the valid complaint to be made. What really irks me is the people who keep bringing up this statistic of how many more Palestinians have died in the last few years than Israelis, which isn't how the ethics of war are determined. Germany had more military casualties than the UK during WWII, but does that mean that Germany was fighting for a noble cause? That's simply not how war works.

The problem here is that the palestinian people are not national socialists, they are people fighting (some with force and others with protests) against a nation that has taken their land. This isn't a war, its an occupation.

go team gold!

oh wait

And you could say that the Israelis are defending their national homeland against terrorists. Hamas strikes residential areas and civilian targets too, but their military technology is just vastly inferior to Israel's. The fact of the matter is that you have one side that is occupying territory it should not own, and another side that is governed by terrorists who care more about funding missiles that do not work than improving the lives of the people living on the Gaza strip.

I'm all for hamas using what little money they have on improving the lives of its people, and also trying to reach a peace deal. Except look at what happened to the west bank when supposed peace was reached. Settlements, hate crimes, checkpoints everywhere, etc. Palestinians in Gaza elected hamas because they saw them as the only means of not giving up the fight for their homeland. Something Fatah, or the PA, has failed to do in their eyes. Israel instigated this crCIA when they blamed hamas for the kidnappings. This rocket fire is the only way they know how to fight and resist.
