Author Topic: Should I get Splashtop 2?  (Read 620 times)

Splashtop 2 is a app for the iPhone that goes for $3 and allows you to use your desktop on your iPhone or iPad. The catch is that it's a subscription thing if you want to use it ANYWHERE, not just connected to my computer. 2$ a month or 17$ annually. I'd like to get it to play desktop games without having to buy or download it's mobile counterpart. It's good for road trips and when I'm at school.

Should I get this app?

I can guarantee you it won't be as good as you think it is.
Seriously, take your hopes and expectations of it and divide by 5.

I have it the delay is far to high to play fps and games at a reasonable rate.

This is usually true, but I've heard Splashtop is actually pretty decent. Do they not have some sort of trial you can try first, OP?

I checked, I don't think so.

To access your desktop from your iPhone for free, use Unified Remote. Sadly I don't think it can run desktop games but if you really wanna run them, then I'd suggest getting a cheap laptop. I haven't researched (or ever heard of) Splashtop so I can't say anything against it, however it sounds too good to be true.

splashtop is not worth it

Get TeamViewer. Done.

teamviewier is kinda laggy with it things.

i use splashtop when i can't access things on my phone which are on my pc, or just to wake it up.

i do this by paying $0. i use the free version because it works. oh and, OP, if you're gonna use it for gaming, have fun setting up for games to be windowed so splashtop can play em. it doesn't work well either for gaming...

If you have an android and you get THIER gaming app
Then the frame rate up would be better.
