I'd like something to play to kill time and crpg gets really boring and wth.
Tycoon's seem fun to have I guess, until the next best mod comes out ;=; (just my opinion)...

Please & Thank you!

that would be very complicated, I believe...

why not play some strategy or just flash tycoon games?

That's not fun, it's so boring playing it alone. Who are you gonna show that success to.. your dog? No xD idk

That's why I posted this thread

I attempted this before based on how roblox does it but i have a hard idea translating my ideas from my mind to brick though if you wanna work with me to do it that would be great :)

I don't really build, but roblox makes it that you have a generator powering money, then you save up do stuff then touch a brick to make new things appear xD, but that'd be hard I think... You'd have to       make it that at a touch of a button bricks appear perfectly built, or do it the easy way and event the bricks to be invisible and make the button make them render and so on... :s

Tell me what you want, give me a few days and I can attempt this ( and most likely do it. ) A Roblox-style tycoon should be possible with VCE.

could probably do it with defaults if you're clever enough with print counters

Just a tycoon... I guess like roblox, would seem nice. If you can do better, be my guest!

I've already got it planned out, but the problem is that it will be single-player. In other words, it won't be like Roblox, where there are multiple copies of the tycoon so 6-12 people can play at once. This is because I would have to individually rename and re-event every brick for a single copy.

Maybe you can convince me to have a two-player setup, but I won't go beyond that.

Roblox pulls it off by putting the bricks into groups, and unless someone makes grouping bricks together possible somehow in blockland, you'd have to name all the bricks different things. You might be able to make this a simpler process by editing the BLS file directly and find and replacing the names, but that may or may not be as simple as it seems since I never attempted doing so. You'd have to have all of the bricks already placed too or you'd just have bricks overlapping several times.

OT: It'd be nice to have a tycoon type game in blockland; more people should attempt to do so, since I only recall seeing one or two people make one so far.

Can't you make a loop check to see if bl-id is present in the game, if not... it deletes the bricks auto?

The tycoon is turning out to be easier than I thought to make. Because of this, I can and will at least attempt 2 and 3-player modes. Not sure how at the moment, but I'll do it.

As this is a Roblox-style tycoon, certain parts of it are just a waiting game. Because of this, I will add a cheat button that gives you free money if you become impatient. Note that I am trying to avoid making this a wait-to-win game. There might be points where you won't be able to do anything for 45 seconds, but that's it.

OR You can build something else to make people get occupied, like in roblox. They make a big slide and people roll down and see if they live or die xD

I'm sorry I have to bump it, I really want it

When I say I'm making this tycoon Roblox-style, I sure don't go halfway. The main tycoon building is blue! Blue!

In all seriousness, here's the scoop:

Part of Tycoon | Status | Description
Tycoon Building - Done - Cheap blue building, but it does the job. Maybe the other players will have different colors.
Balancing - Done - The game starts out VERY slow, then in the second half, it dramatically speeds up. I want the speed to be consistant.
2-Player Competition - In Progress - Two-player race to the finish.
2-Player Co-op - Not Started - Two players work together. Not sure if this is even possible.

7/22: The single-player game is complete and playable. I already know how 2-player competition is going to work. Unsure about 2-player co-op.
