I never understood why people spent big bucks and fancy keyboard or mouse. I've being using the default keyboard and mouse. It's not fancy, but it does the job. It's also not a chick propellant.

I usually hate the mice with 9 keys on it, it all looks stupid.

But mechanical keyboards are a heaven on Earth. I switched to my old one to see how much worse and I couldn't even type right with it. A mechanical is worth it IMO.

EDIT: Any recommendations on a good mic? I'd like to buy one that isn't super overpriced, but isn't pure shiet either.

I got a relatively fancy mouse for its additional buttons and DPI settings, but they're not really used for gaming. Buttons are typically media controls, DPI settings are for graphics and modeling work. It was roughly the price of a normal one.
Keyboard, however, I see no reason to get a fancy stupid one. Like, it glows? Congrats, your keyboard is obnoxious.
