News is saying that the plane is confirmed down in Mali with 116 fatalities.  First, the Dutch-bound Malaysian Airlines plane was shot over Ukraine, the Taiwan wreck, fighter jets also over Ukraine, and now this.

Regardless of situation, I'm wondering how much coincidence this holds.  This is 462 people killed by news-catching plane wrecks in only a week.

Bad luck really.
The inclusion of the Malaysian plane being shot down is a bit different though. That's not an accident.

The media is also much happier to pick up on accidents currently too, whereas there wouldn't be quite as much focus on them if they were much more spread out.

And consider that the number of accidents might actually impact on the mentality of the pilots of other flights. Could be that some pilots have their confidence knocked and second-guess more.
