This isn't a fighting game or anything, what possible issue could arise from adding more characters? Bloated DLC costs aside, that's just an issue with the game as a whole that extends beyond the characters.

Too many characters might have been a legitimate concern when the first one was being added, something about keeping with a serious theme or whatever. But around the point they added a cowboy pack, or a ninja pack, or a hotline miami pack that went away. IMO im not a fan of the criminal clubhouse narrative the devs built, but they can't undo it so they might as well keep moving forward with it.

Cool a story whatever but all characters are in payday is dialog fountains. What's he gonna bring? New heist? I see he's got a sword in the trailer but I hope that's not what his perk deck centralizes on because melee combat is ass.

to be fair, from a thematic perspective the hotline miami pack fit in pretty well with everything else. at the very least moreso than cowboys or ninjas

unless he has a third arm in that jacket or stole steven hawking's facial-spasms-to-speech machine, I see no way he'd be able to communicate with anyone

jokes aside, I'm really not a fan of any of the new characters. Clover and old hoxton were alright i guess, the newer ones and especially jacket just annoy me to death

I pay no attention to voice lines now, they have all just blended into this big pancake of annoying stuff.

An option to mute all of the dialogue would probably be something I'd like, because almost all of it is just so cringey, repetitive, and badly acted.
