Author Topic: My great grandmother has passed away  (Read 1200 times)

Hey guys, I normally don't make topics like this but I figured I would this time to let it out.

My Great Grandmother who is 89 years old has been really sick for the past few months, she was recently diagnosed with dementia and has had some problems with her colon and other things. Yesterday we found out her kidneys are shutting down, she's having some internal bleeding and a really bad bacterial infection. Just a few hours ago we got a call from my Grandpa saying that things took a turn for a worse and she's probably on her way out. Her blood pressure is dropping pretty rapidly.

She's lived a long and tough life. But she's really happy with her family, she loves every one of us even though she has a hard time showing it. She's been in a lot of pain, so I'm glad she'll finally have peace. She is one kick ass great grandmother and I'm going to miss her.

Update: We just got the call, she's no longer with us.

that sucks
i know your feel too

Good wishes and sympathies to your family and grandma.

89 years old, that's a looong time to live man.

You can make it through, man. My mom is still picking up the pieces from when her dad died last year, and even though it's going to be tough I can tell you from experience that we humans have an unlimited capacity for hope and being happy with what life throws at us.

Deep sympathy and my heart goes out to you and your family.

I had a great grandmother who suffered from a severe type of dementia. She died in 2010.

Yikes, that sucks. She lived a great life

Man, that sucks.
A couple of months ago, my grandpa died after a long battle with multiple strokes. It really makes you sad.

if i were a doctor i'd pull the plug on her
if shes suffering that much its for the better

That sucks. At least you got to know her. My paternal grandparents were dead long before I was born and my maternal side not long after I was born.

this is probably a bad time for me to say that heaven isnt real

sorry for your (possible) loss

Whatever you believe in is perfectly fine, I'm just happy her suffering will come to an end, whether her spirit carries over to another plane of existence or not.

Thank you all so much. This means a lot to me, I love you all.

She lived a long, great life. Give her props for making past a lot of 50 year olds who made stupid decisions earlier in life.
