Act like an adult and you'll be treated more like one. Sit him down and try to persuade him rather than just blurting out "hurr if i wanted to watch research id just google it".

I don't really agree. In my experience, the quickest and easiest way to get people to comply with you is to attack their reasoning rather than trying to convince them. People don't like to sway opinions.

man if I can stop myself from loving a girl who's literally naked on top of me how can you have trouble stopping yourself from excusing yourself from class, walking to the bathroom, then whacking off

i was a disappointment to my ancestors last night :(

And in your experience people don't get defensive when you attack their reasoning?

I'm not saying don't point out people's unreasonableness, but refine it a bit. People tend to comply more when they can come to their own conclusion on a situation.

It doesn't really matter if they get defensive if they're wrong. In this scenario their reasoning that providing them with access to Netflix allows them a channel to view adult content they would otherwise be unable to see is down right incorrect.

I don't know what subscription you have to netflix is, but is it likely that your dad is using the "keeping you from watching the bad stuff" as an excuse to be the only one that can watch netflix?
