What MOS are you considering going for if you enlist? There's a lot of jobs that don't directly involve shooting bullets at brown people all day you know. A lot of people don't seem to realize that about the military. Of course not going into an infantry role means everyone thinks you're a total pusillanimous individual but the structure needs people besides them to function efficiently.

The only branch of the US Armed Forces I'd join would be the Coast Guard. I love boats, and water. Also the benefit of being a part of the military is that if you wanna go to medical school then it's free.

my dad has had no problems. He has 90% of the GI bill. If he stayed in another month or 2 he would be at 100%

Generally the type of people who put a lot of trust in the US government, claim to love it, say we have nothing to worry about, loyal to some political part, etc. Yet they don't want to defend their country, they only have their interests in mind. I'm not saying this is everybody, but most people I have run into are like this.

I see it more as visiting a friends house, making a mess, leaving your friend to clean it up, then coming back once the mess is cleaned up.
