I have learned a lot from this thread, being a guy that doesn't watch research. I didn't even know feet were a special interest! I honestly didn't know any special interestes either until this thread came along

well you've got to think about how you're defining "watch research"

I wouldn't call images "watching research" for example

and he might get off on something that's not commonly considered researchographic, much like I used to with my drawings, instead of looking at actual research

it's not necessarily an issue of self control

it depends on your view of research. If you don't think it's acceptable and you still watch it, sure, your self control is faltering
if you see no issue with it, and you watch it, you're satisfying yourself but not because of a lack of self control.
