Author Topic: why do people obsess over celebrities  (Read 2689 times)

Yeah that makes sense.

I just find it kind of weird when local news stations are advertising "The Baby Prince's First Playdate" and "The Baby Prince's First Vacation" and little things like that.
Yeah, that's just stuffty gossipy things trying to invasively sell their life. No normal person really gives a stuff that Prince George is doing regular things. It's what everyone expects.

lol the royal family will not "rule" the united kingdom
the royals have literally no power. compared to the prime minister they are nothing.
Except for the way in which they constitutionally are in rule.
They have the power of rule, whether they would exercise it is another question.

But they are the face of the Kingdom and the Commonwealth. That's not an unimportant role.

Most of the time because they're loving hot

Because we're social creatures and we like to gossip, and it's much easier to gossip over a central target who is quite open, such as celebrities, than random people.

I will be grand dictator of earth one day, even the illuminati will be jealous of me. Just not today :(.

Because you're told you're not important and that they are. It's media, it's engineered to sell product.

one thing I find more annoying is when people obsess over how good someone's instrument playing is instead of listening to the song as a whole

like D-Bag *ahem* I'm sorry, DragonForce fans

Honestly though, I think that's good. So many people look at games as a whole, and never consider just the entire amount of work it takes to do very basic things, let alone the entire game.

uh

a game is one single cohesive experience, you're supposed to look at it as a whole

you can put as much as you want into one thing but if you skimp out on something else you're going to have a bad game

They obsess over celebrities to make up for their own boring lives, and also
Because you're told you're not important and that they are.

To be fair though, some celebrities do produce very entertaining and enjoyable things, like films and songs and such, so being a fan of them out of appreciation and anticipation for their future works is rather fair.

But I suppose it depends on how far one has to go before they are obsessing.

Not to keep going off-topic, but that's not *necessarily* true. There have been games made without graphics or audio before.

A lot of people will complain when things are bad (usually they don't realise what's bad is minor polish which is missing), but they usually gloss over details when things are right.

i don't get it. none of them actually like the music, say if it's a producer, none of them like the tv show, if it's a tv show.

why do bratty teenagers obsess over celebrities
People obsess over them because:
A. They are attractive to the public eye
B. Are famous for some reason, and people are drawn to people with more money. (Usually)

Celebrities ask themselves this too. I mean, most celebs can't take a stuff without the press measuring it's color and density.

Tom Cruise really needs to eat more fibre.
