This is what I'm leaning towards. I mean look at the poor thing, unable to come up with rational arguments of its own, incapable of spelling, and having a complete and utter lack of understanding as to what an edit button is for.
McDonalds and Walmart and Best Buy are not always hiring all the time. If you suddenly found yourself out of a job and needing to support yourself and/or your family, and the only place looking help is the sharp-knives-and-also-acid-and-tigers factory, then your "choice" is between accepting a dangerous job or getting put out on the loving street. And you can't simply wait for other, "safer" places to start hiring again because by the time they are then WHOOPS you're homeless.

They cannot support a family. They cannot support an education. Surviving in the modern world requires more than a minimum wage job. This is why there is so much controversy on raising the minimum wage.

that's not even true. I've never been picked on for not being strong and I've lived in the south all my life. of course I have no experience providing for a family but I've never known a stay-at-home dad or anything of the sort who was picked on for that either

I wouldn't actually quote that infographic in the OP. I've been looking around for like 30 minutes now and cannot find where the maker of it pulled the statistic for industrial deaths. Not to mention that it's very nonspecific, it doesn't even say what period of time those deaths even accumulated in. Could be in the past ten years, or the past fifty. If they're counting all industrial deaths since the 19th century then that would definitely explain the huge ratio of male deaths but I can't find anything on any of the links to support that.
Not that I expected such a handicapped image to have decent sources anyway, but whatever.
