i'm a bit nervous about returning to school because half of my teachers are brand new and i have a lot of stuff being thrown at me. i'm the financial officer in jrotc and have to give a briefing for our air force inspection, i'm starting trig in my engineering and robotics class and i don't have my math whiz friend to help me anymore, and i'm the system administrator and pretty much the leader in my east lab class (and will be the person in charge when we go to conference)
my school has a 96% black community and it's impossible to fail. also there are fights like every night after school, we had a girl come to school one day with a dislocated arm, a boy had part of a finger severed from a rival gang member slamming the dude's hand in a door, 4 students are in jail for arson, and a girl got shot in the leg over summer break
My high school actually isn't that stuffty. Hardly any "gangsters." There's maybe one fight per year. Only bad thing is that my school is ultra competitive, and like half the school is in all AP/IB classes.
One of these things is not like the otherrr

Good to see you able to rise above a toxic environment. I sure am glad that my high school had not a single black or hispanic person and that they aren't common in engineering and science either.
i don't really have a problem with black or hispanic people, it's when they start to cause problems that i dislike them. in my school's case, they're causing a problem by being almost totally illiterate and almost getting the district taken over by the state because so many of them couldn't read. there were only 3 people in my freshmen class who were able to pass a 6th grade vocabulary quiz, and the advanced class did worse than the normal class. it's so stuffty here and i'd love to get out of it but my only alternative is to go to a school that's so stressful on people that they have to turn to prescription drugs just to keep themselves from failing.
I know, I was just being crassly tribal as usual. Where do you live again? I remember it being in the south, that would explain the high black population.
