I hate first days that are ALL talking about rules they are all the same rules too
It's like just have one class go over general rules, apply them to all classrooms, and actually do something so I'm not bored to death over here

the first like 3 days at my school are all orientation days and it loving suuucks. its all the teachers trying to be intimidating about how much they'll push you in class and handing out the syllabus and going over the student handbook and their classroom rules and its like ok can we like, start school now?

hopefully it'll have some more interesting nutcases this time

since p much all schools in cali are the same i'd recommend just ignoring the senior downplaying you for being a freshman and just don't sound like a friend near them, likewise HS will just be a better middle school.
