I love melatonin but I never take it. I've got this issue where when I lay down in bed my mind goes into overdrive and I can't stop thinking about literally everything, so it's really hard to sleep. My solution historically has been to stay up so  late every night that when I close my eyes in bed I pretty much pass out instantly, but it's probably healthier to just take some melatonin at like 9pm and be asleep by 11.

it doesnt work for me

i'll take upwards of 50-60mg at a time and my sleep is absolutely no different than if i didnt take it

60-100 mg is like a whole bottom

I'm a big guy, 6'8, close to 300 pounds, built like a brick wall.

And melatonin works fine for me.

Same with me. Whenever I try to sleep my mind races. Thats a perk to exercising everyday because he gets me pretty tired before bed. Also sitting in a rocking chair before bed helps me too.

Im tired when I dont want to be and Im wide awake when I dont want to be :/

do any of you take melatonin to help you fall asleep?
ive been taking 6 mg to help and it doesnt very much :(

i used to take an off-brand sleep aid that would absolutely knock me out in like, an hour (just ask qwepir he had to deal with it once). google tells me it was diphenhydramine but just look for the equate nighttime sleep aid stuff.

The thing with melatonin is your body produces it naturally.  It's almost always marketed as a "sleep aid" because it's a non-prescription "supplement", and not guaranteed to work.

If taking melatonin (especially large doses) doesn't work, consider talking to your doctor about sleep issues.  There may be something else preventing proper sleep.

other than the random body jolts id get it was perfectly safe night

I just take a couple allergy pills if I really need to sleep, helps with seasonal allergies AND knocks you out

Random body jolts are normal and not a side effect of orally taken melatonin

You'd have a much more profound affect from taking benadryl than you would melatonin
