Author Topic: Humans Need Not Apply  (Read 7914 times)

because the human mind and computers function in entirely different ways
its impossible to truly replicate the human brain in the current kind of computer, regardless of power
not that you couldn't emulate it well enough to get rid of a lot of jobs

But they don't need to fully replace the human brain, they just need to do a good enough job that the humans aren't needed anymore.

The forget? You just claimed something that you think proves the video wrong, but then when someone asked you to back up your claims and you just repeated what you said before.
this is common sense. who the hell told you that replicating the brain is possible? stop being one of those people "but in the future it must exist!" every time something is clearly not possible. Flying cars? OH IN THE FUTURE GUYS! being able to go at light speed? IN THE FUTURE GUYS! escaping the event horizon? DEFINITELY ALL IN THE FUTURE

i could pull up an article or two with some neurologist professor guy who can conclude the same thing. he has more experience with the brain than any of us here do together. but you can google that on your own, im not here to school you on what you said making no sense whatsoever.

for simple jobs yeah. what if the job requires human thinking? some sort of "dynamic" job that doesnt always have the same input and output. a robot cant handle that.
but what do i know. ITS ALL IN THE FUTURE!

I'm not trying to say it's definitely possible. I'm trying to say that you're saying that it's "clearly not possible" but then give nothing to back up these claims.

my claim is common sense. if that doesnt work youre hopeless

if we're able to understand the brain enough to replicate it in a machine then there's going to be bigger problems than just unemployment

It's common sense that the human brain cannot be emulated to a degree that it can be considered artificial intelligence.

Okay then.

if we're able to understand the brain enough to replicate it in a machine then there's going to be bigger problems than just unemployment
thats the problem. the brain is so dynamic, it doesnt work like a computer. no one knows how it connects things together inside or how it communicates with its cells. it randomly does things, there is no pattern to replicate.

yeah, mainly because your brain isnt a computer, doesnt behave like one and more importantly, never will.

What do you mean simple jobs? I mean do you consider being a lawyer a simple job that you can just poke around with, because they can be affected, doctors and the likes too. Like with the automatons even if every individual robot cant do anything but what it's made to, each robot does its own part in collaboration to complete the goal, which could prove compatible with whatever thinking is necessary for the job.
Even if that wasn't the case then there is one job that robots cant do and i guess everyone in the world just does that then.

well if the lawyer bot is simply just scanning paper that's a pretty simple but hardworking job

But that doesn't mean that we will never be able to understand the brain enough to emulate it. Just because our current knowledge of the brain won't allow it to be possible, doesn't mean that our knowledge of the brain will never allow for it. What we know can always expand.

Ninjaaa
Is it a simple job or is it a difficult job made simple by the robot?

it's the simple job of scanning paper, the hard part is having a human to look through it all so I guess it's a difficult job made simpler by the robot

simple job like a cashier
thats a good job for a robot. (in the future duh guys)

a lawyer is not a robot job
maybe you can have a robot follow you around carrying your suit case

but yeah i agree with having robots help around with tasks to complete a goal is nice, its already happening, but i disagree with the claim that robots will take over all jobs (and the world) and leave humans with nothing to do. maybe robot jobs will never happen because building robots is too expensive or too hard to maintain or program.

if im wrong you can come and tap dance over my grave

im sorry but its literally impossible. you have to draw a fine line somewhere.

a lawyer is not a robot job
The video explained how bots can work as lawyers.
