Author Topic: sims 4 is going to be awful, apparently  (Read 4556 times)

I'm gonna pre-order and see if it's as bad as every thinks it is. If it is, I'll use the disk as a frisbee or a coaster.

They always have. Theres always a "collection" version that contains all of the to-date DLC.

People who just started playing are less likely to buy the $400 worth of DLC that has collected over the years than they are the $60 package deal so thats $60 in their pocket that they wouldnt have had otherwise.

The collections only release after like 2 or 3 DLC packs are released, or when the game is nearing the end of it's life

The special interest thread frustrates me.

I think sims 4 looks better, simply because sims 3 graphics look jagged and it dosent "flow", but sims 4 "flows" except the water.

But is it really worth losing all those features?

none appear to be of actual significance

is there ever gomna be some kinda sims4 premium or something.
there is no way i would buy 400 dollars worth of dlc over time lol. but i would pay a solid 60 bucks up front for it all.

the part that really kills me about that is that people will totally buy the dlc too

i may get it if theres a legit premium.

:D

doesn't seem like it at all lol. it just seems... dead compared to sims 3.

It still hasn't been confirmed by EA, for all we know they could've scrapped it and I don't think anyone has asked them about it and has gotten an answer.

I have a real hard time understanding how people can say "the features don't matter".

This is The Sims. Half the gameplay is about the customisation and options. Removing these features means that the gameplay ultimately suffers. This isn't like Halo where taking a big rock out of a map isn't going to do much, since players never had to interact with the decor in the game (except as cover). This is actively limiting your players from more than half of what the expected gameplay should be.

Doesn't matter if you use or don't use those features. You have to agree that a AAA studio should know better than to limit overall gameplay for the sake of either blatant money-making or time constraints. It's not like they've never made a Sims game either; they already know all the features people love, so there should be the expectation that those features make it into the basegame, and that the expansions offer brand-new content that they've never thought of before.

Also, people saying these features weren't in Sims 2/3 basegame, I had both on release, and many of these were present, so no idea what crack people are smoking these days.

Why do people feel like they have a responsibility to defend a company when it's clear they're acting real shifty/stuffty?

nobody's defending them, this behaviour is just normal and expected by now

What a bright and cheerful place this industry has become.
