Apples and oranges buddy...
Nope. You're saying the police can do what they want because they're the police.

The press should be able to go in there and not get targeted by the police BECAUSE IT'S IN THE BILL OF RIGHTS. This isn't like they're caught in the crossfire, they are being specifically targeted BY THE POLICE.

THAT IS ILLEGAL

Do you understand now?

Yet you keep trying to defend the press.
no, im defending the right to press
the press are a bunch of scumbags, but that doesnt mean the police can infringe on that right

Rights can be suspended.

No, my point is that people are doing something they know is dangerous and the authorities telling them it's not okay to go ib there.

You guys are acting like your the victim if you go to a nuclear reactor and want to go to the core and see it regardless of the danger and regardless of authority, and then you get arrested for tresspassing.

except nothing theyre doing is actually illegal??
if they wanna do something dangerous let em
Rights can be suspended.
please be quiet before you look even more stupid

No, it's more like if a nuclear plant inspector with permission from the CEO to go into the core was arrested for trespassing.

Rights should never be suspended if it does not affect the government's war capabilities. These riots aren't doing that, in fact, legally, we are not at war. These people are citizens of the United States, who have rights given to them by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, unless they are enemies of that state for reporting something they are allowed to practice these rights. And if they are declared enemies of the state just because they are reporters, well, gg, you just declared war on your own people for a garunteed right.

Alright, settle down kiddies.

The "press" meaning a bunch of career seeking journalists can and will go to the scene of these riots, as they should. The police cannot infringe upon their innocence, this has nothing to do with the freedom of the press, which protects the press from being prosecuted by the state for doing their job anything they've written or said. The two reporters in the McDonalds could be forced out by the police if the owner wanted them out, however for their arrests to allegedly be for not leaving fast enough, and then their subsequent release without a charge to go the way it did, the police are in the wrong.

Overall, if reporters are going into dangerous situations and expecting to be treated like royalty, then they are sadly mistaken.

And lastly, the Bill of Rights cannot be suspended. I don't have the slightest clue where you people are getting that idea, but I'm fairly certain you'd have a hard time arguing how you could possibly suspend amendments without passing an amendment first.

not trying to side with anyone in particular but they should've waited for the event to be over before reporting on it

Excuse me for knowing something people commonly overlook.

The city governent is the one who is the CEO. They tell the police what to do because they are apart of the security division  Therefore, the wouldn't have the right to because they never had any permission to do so.

And rights can be suspended in times of crCIA, jesus you have a thick skull.

That would have made for an interesting Vietnam War if that tactic were employed.

Not ones guaranteed by the Constitution.

i dont think any of them actually wanted to be treated like royalty
its just like a reporter in the middle east or something, they know what theyre getting into, they know they could get blown up or shot and they choose to do it anyway so they can report the news
read oasis' post

why are we comparing this to war

Tell me Kochieboy and Oasis have you actually seen the video of the Al Jazeera crew getting gassed or are you just pulling things out of thin air?
