Lived in berkeley for 2+ years while my gf attended, its a fun school and probably one of the best schools to choose, I just really do not like the people. Like the actual berkeley natives, the hippies, are great friendly, environmentall concious, would share a joint with you if you saw them smoking in public. Everything you could want. The students are pricks. Most of them. They do not share the same sense of responsibility or care for the world, but they feel because they go to a "liberal" school they are allowed to raise stufffits about things they really dont give a forget about but want to appear that they give a forget in order to seem more "liberal" to their friends, and none of these people actually pay attention to their behviour as they toss their tenth starbucks of the day, served in plastic, into a trashcan instead of the recycling bin less than a foot away.
The food in berkeley though, wow, it makes it worth all the jerks. If you end up choosing that school you're going to get fat from all the good food.
dude, Cinnaholic, the cinnamon bun place on campus, is the loving zone. that sucks though, everyone i met was pretty cool (including my friend griffin who just started there, but y'know)
i feel like i would like campus life more at Cal just because of the food and just how loving pretty it is
but i like the academics i'd be getting into at stanford more (fun fact: their computer science professor coined the term "artificial intelligence")
also stanford is on a quarter system which i like
