Author Topic: carolcat has gotten an mri now (hi blogland what up) (RESULTS: i have tumor)  (Read 9619 times)

Yeah just don't have metal on you; otherwise good luck, hope everything goes well!

the only metal i have on me is the metal wiring behind my teeth and my watch
that's about it

but yea i know not to have any metal with me, i've read some fiction stuff that involved shoving a man with a metal watch into an active MRI room and the dude hit the machine and died

if i recall it's not that bad but our science teacher told us it's just really bad and had some story to go with it; can't remember now tho so w/e

oh no i havent talked with u much :( i hope u get well soon!!

basically it's just a really long ct scan. instead of xrays it's magnetic pulses, which is why you shouldn't wear metal during it.

i never had one but close friends and family have gone through it.

good luck!

Pretty sure metal just messes with the picture

I had braces it won't kill you if you accidentally have metal

Hope you get your medical costs covered

robot parts are expensive

That's why we need universal healthcare!

No but I hope all goes well for you, I feel bad.

Make sure you wear chain mail so the evil machine doesn't kill you

Lol then it will kill you. The supermagnets are like 30,000 times that of the earths magnetic field so chain mail would drag you into the machine for a bone crunching horrifying death. I've been to my dads department and he let me hold a piece of aluminum inside the machine. The magnets were balanced and the supers were off but it literally felt like the metal weighed nothing and would just levitate if I let go.

On topic: I had a CAT scan when I was young. The nurse made me drink this liquid which tasted like milky hell (it made me feel kind of sick that it was so bad) to make the results show up on xrays better. She then put an IV in my arm (after writhing and screaming) and put me inside. I remember hearing weird noises and seeing odd lights. Felt like I was on one of those guerney things (forgot the name) where they put dead bodies in those cabinet thingies after an autopsy.

good luck
I hope you feel better soon

in my experience, you definitely should not masturbate in the MRI machine.

Morgue?

Good luck carol, hopefully you will be better soon.

Also Make sure you don't take anything magnetic in there, it gets uhh well just watch this vid and find out.

The MRI basically turned into a reverse slingshot when a magnetic object was near.

This won't happen unless you take a metal gas tank in there though.

thanks for giving me a horrible fear of going to doctors now
