this is a dumb response. don't try to look at it logically, the facts are set in stone. the point is that you make a decision with a straightforward answer, you don't try to point out how something is impossible. saying "killing someone wouldnt bring peace on earth" is wrong, because in the context of the scenario it would. the question is if you would do it or not--- not if it would work.

No, it's not a dumb response. I make decisions off of reality, not fantasy. If your scenarios are beyond the scape of possibility how can one make a genuinely good decisions about them?

This could be better. If there's no reason to save one over the other besides their gender, then you're only making a gender based selection. A better one would be if it were a young child or your own friend/spouse/family member who is much older.
