there is nothing elitist about it.
a hardcore gamer isnt JUST someone who spends X amount of time playing a game. its a user who will work for his reward. and the content costs more, and is of higher quality.
a mobile "gamer" like trhese woman they are talking about in the article. want instant rewards, little content, and they usually pay nothing. its add money at that point.
and yes, stuffty casuals do hurt the market, because at the end of the day, developers really just make games that earn. the labor involved in making a a mobile game to earn add money is basically nothing.
the bar is set extremely low because casuals arent real gamers and dont know any better.
a fact that isnt to big a deal on their end sure, but the entire industry reflects this, and hardcores suffer for it.
the casual/hardcore debate isnt about elitism. its literally an attack by stupid entry level people into hardcore's already ongoing hobbies.
