Do you think Blockland 2 could be a possible thing?

I'd almost be surprised if a Blockland 2 was not made.
I can't see why not.
I don't think so.
Blockland's gonna stay the way it is forever.
Blockland will die.

I know people tend to joke around about a "Blockland 2: The Search For More Money" but what if a sequel actually happened? Badspot really doesn't like dealing with this game according to what I have seen, probably because it's all forgeted, so I would not be surprised if sequel or another blockland happened, perhaps on a more advanced engine with more features. It might split the community up, but if it's for a better future I would be okay with that. Think of The Binding of Issac: Rebirth, Black Mesa, or even Blockland's transition from free to retail.

What if it had a Adventure Mode in it. Seriously, I mean it

The way Badspot sees it is that the game is finished and no longer needs developing, yes from time to time it may require patching but this stuffty community deserves nothing, and I completely agree with him.
I can't speak for him, but I think he is just bored of developing a game that he is no longer interested in, and I highly doubt he'd ever release a Blockland 2.
These are my own opinions and views of what I think Badspot thinks. I've gathered this view from posts he's made on the forums in the recent months and they might be different to what he actually thinks.
But I think it is nice to get different peoples opinions in the matter.

blockland 2 is never going to happen lol

I'm not sure what will happen, but here's what I think should be done:

This version of Blockland should be set aside, since it's already so outdated because of Torque's engine. With that being said, I believe that this should be free, and a completely new Blockland should be worked on (and that would be for purchase of course). If Badspot were to do this, then I think he should name it something else rather than Blockland 2 though.

Honestly, Blockland has so much potential and I could see it becoming a #1 indie hit. There are just a few drawbacks:

-It lacks default tools
-The game looks too much like a game from 2006 would still, even with shaders because of textures and meshes

The way Badspot sees it is that the game is finished and no longer needs developing, yes from time to time it may require patching but this stuffty community deserves nothing, and I completely agree with him.

If the community consists of paid users (like here), then the mentality of your customers should be regardless. It's like when you run a charity, and you have the nastiest donors: you don't stop the charity because the donors are jerks. They are donating to your charity. You don't stop the charity because the donors aren't nice to you.

I think the price of the current blockland would remain $10 or go to $5 and a new blockland would be $25 or $30. I'd buy a new and improved blockland for that much if something like this were to happen

We could call it the Return to Blockla- wait no

Yes but I bought this game for $20 8 years ago and I'm still playing it now, I don't think that $20 gives me a lifetime supply of updates. You don't see games such as GTA IV getting updates now, do you? It's finished being developed and the developers moved onto other projects such as GTA V.
Badspot is working on other things and in all fairness to him, that's okay.
The community develops the game, Badspot acknowledges this and that's why he doesn't feel the need to develop the game further.

Also Caribou this isn't an NGO charity, it's a game which has an alpha, beta and final stage. We're at the final stage and to be honest, there shouldn't be any more updates.

How about you make your own building game if you're don't like Blockland enough?

i'm wondering what badspot's opinion would be on some portion of the community taking up a project like rebuilding blockland in a newer engine. as in, being made to look and function completely identical to blockland as it is now, but being worked from the ground up in a different engine. it'd likely be way more work than it's worth, but i'd still be interested to hear if badspot is against it completely or simply doesn't care.

I don't exactly have the know-how to do this.

What most people don't realize is that this is a game for addons, and we can make them
So do that

But yeah, the engine is outdated. But personally I don't mind. I like the game how it already is.

Go to school.

I see what you mean, and you proved a great point. However, you are saying that because the community here is allegedly bad (which I think is not true) then that means that the community deserves nothing. I don't agree, I think it is totally up to Badspot whether or not he wants to develop the game or not, but he should at least announce it being finished, if it is.

I'd like to hear his thoughts on this too, it's a good idea and sounds very reasonable.

I have to wait until the 4th. I don't know what you're trying to prove. My school doesn't teach jack stuff about coding.
