Autoloaders are fairly common by this point and are utilized by the major militaries participating in the war. Most are still rather primitive and only provide a minor reduction in loading times, and are rather expensive considering. Autoloaders are only available due to some fragments of podtech and associated schematics. Otherwise, tank designs are rather unremarkable, and would be just slightly more advanced than the time period's Terran equivalents during the second world war.
A 20mm rifle is still going to punch through tank armor with relative ease.
>autoloaders are fairly common
Not a singe tank in world had an auto-loader. Even to those day almost every Western tank is still manually loaded. The only tanks to have an auto loaders are the Swedish s-tank, the T-64, T-72, T-80, T-90, and every Chinese tank since the ZTZ-85.

The point of the auto loader is simply to reduce the crew size. Auto loaders are prone to jamming which could fatal in a fire fight. Another issue if the tank takes a hit, the auto loader system could fail and become inoperable. The only advantage it has over a human is the fact that it doesn't get tired like one. It can just keep loading shells at a constant rate.
The loader position is an npc anyway. Even though this is fiction, there is a no room in any of those world war 2 tanks for an auto-loader system. Plus the ammo is revolving around you in the turret, so a heat round penetrating the turret would be fatal.
The more you know.
