I continue firing at fleeing infantry with the coaxial gun, even as a friendly HE round detonates and tears apart the enemy soldiers.
By now, most of the soldiers had either retreated into the treeline or were killed in the initial charge. While the rest of our forces pick off the stragglers, I take some time to crawl back to the other end of the turret to reload the main gun. The spent casing still had some warmth, despite having sat in the brass catcher for over a minute now. I stow it away and fetch another HE round, letting out an inaudible grunt as I shove it into the breech. "HE round loaded!"
Having to crawl back and forth to load each round after firing is a little tedious, I thought to myself. I could feel the sweat on my brow as I looked through the gunner optic to scan for more enemies.
