it was nothing compared to what the colonials' diseases, and the colonials themselves, did
As far as diseases go, no one knew why people got sick or how they spread. To the Europeans if someone got sick, they thought they had been cursed by god or their blood was bad. They weren't forced on to the natives, but because of frequent contact they ended up getting easier spread. At the same time, the colonials received diseases that they had not encountered before.
The Colonials had the technology advantage and the numbers advantage. Europe was overcrowded, which meant they had a ton of people to ship over, plus they had had guns and the ability to establish larger settlements. Those larger settlements ate the much valuable resources the natives requires. Plus with those large concentrations of Europeans diseases were easier spread, which led to the once vast populations of natives to decline.
Many tribes did bad things to the Europeans, and the Europeans did bad things. It's just that were more Europeans commit more atrocities.
Actually both sides did equally horrific things. Stop with this victimizing bullstuff lol
This so much. While technically I could say I am part native American, I hate how this tumblerites use minorities as a springboard for complaining. "oh boo hoo, white people happened. evil white people". Yeah, well, minorities aren't your pets.
