Author Topic: Need good recording software  (Read 1518 times)

Hello, I plan on making some Blockland videos soon, and I need the correct tools! I already have a editing tool, but now need recording. Can anyone recommend some good recording software? Maybe the ones all the other well made Blockland videos use?

Bandicam is very handy and can also do a rectangle box record for flash games, but I also hear good things about DxTory aswell.

Fraps is very good, and what I use. It's around $30 for the full version, but the free demo allows you to record 30 second clips which can be useful for short sketches.

Sony Vegas Pro is great for editing, if you have a lot of money, but Windows Movie Maker should suffice if you have windows. (It should be on your computer by default)

This is very good too, I used it for twitch and it worked absolutely great. I think they added standard recording too?

I use this for my Mac and it's really easy to use.
Really easy to use. I use it to stream my friends and I doing random stuff at http://twitch.tv/space1255

I'm planning on streaming later today if you want to know how it works for a Mac -implying you use MAC-

IF you are using a Mac, the standard QuickTime player app let's you record your screen with no sound.

File>New Screen Recording>Select Resolution>Bam

And how do you get sound?

DxTory apparently does something special to memory so that it wont lag you when you're playing games + it has lossless recording quality

Hypercam 2

But in all seriousness, don't use it.

100% this. It's completely free and allows you to record videos to your hard drive in great quality!

Bandicam is a great recording program, fraps is too laggy, and I dunno any others.
