Author Topic: St Louis area storm situation [damage assessment, saw FOX helicopter page 3]  (Read 1974 times)

Yikes. The wind died down for me but I still have power.

By the looks of it, the tornadic radar echo swallowed itself up and doesn't appear threatening anymore. There is some heavy strengthening on the rear adding more rain and wind.

Edit: Warning extended into Illinois
False, the circulation seems to be spinning up according to radar from 3 minutes ago.

Winds are going in seperate directions so the tornado is still on the ground and alive.
New EAS bulletin.

;D
im good with forecasting

I'm looking at Doppler winds at the circulation is very weak if anything. Are you sure your radar is updated?

Its right on the Mississippi where I'm looking.

No edit: now even the meteorologists on TV are saying the main threat is diminished. I'm ahead by a good couple minutes.

Too bad you're 350 miles away :/

New development in the west has rainfall frequency coming at five inches per hour. Looks like I'm in for a dousing.

Signature has faded from radar from 10 minutes ago.

Sounds about right.

Nature is a bitch sometimes. Today I woke up at 3:00 AM to the sound of explosive thunder.

It wasn't that bad up a bit northeast from you guys. I think it was just like a normal storm, i think.

By the looks of it I got barely any rain. I know it did rain for a while but it was just an average steady dump. Some places not far from STL got 6in or more.

The tornado passed through my school district though. A girl in art class said that a tree crashed into her front door (High Ridge) so she had to go out the back to get to school.

That sucks.

We once had a tree fall on our van, it totaled it. And the scary thing is, my dad was literally less than a minute away from getting in it and driving it out of the way. ;-;
