Author Topic: Best gaming computer <= $600?  (Read 3533 times)

So how good is this build? No knowledge of computers whatsoever. How well can it run games? And how does it run Blockland?
It's a decent build but I'd do things differently (i'd never spent more on a CPU than the GPU), I only chose those specs because that's what the prebuilt had, and I was proving that an identical build is cheaper than prebuilt

If you arent building it with a budget of 600 you are gonna have a real pile of stuff
The prebuilt I linked is on a large sale, it's not bad

i'd never spent more on a CPU than the GPU

Heh, that's funny. I'm exactly opposite, the last computer I built had a $1,000 processor and a ~$350 video card. I don't really play games though, so I guess it'd make sense for gamers to prioritize the GPU.

lol, even if i could somehow convince her to get it, i'm still scared of handling the parts a bit too hard and breaking some
also are there any other good computers for under or equal to $600?
trust me, its pretty hard to break a computer part when installing it
usually its just a matter of sticking it in the right slot or screwing something in, there no science to it
basically if you can build Ikea furniture you can build a computer

and good loving luck trying to find a 600 prebuilt that isnt crap lol
not gonna happen unless you can convince your mom to let you build or at least upgrade

what, why?
what processor was it

Twas before this one was released, if I was building a computer right now I'd buy that one.

I generally have like 100 tabs open at any given time in Google Chrome, plus a billion programs open, etc. I also like programming (admittedly inefficient) physics simulations and stuff that can get that processor up to 80-90% full load.

because 4core is for chumps

why is it so expensive?
Because it's the second best non-server processor on the market.

Also, in the grand scheme of things $1k isn't a lot of cash. The apartment I'm living in right now costs about $950 a month to live in, and that's with 5 other roommates paying the same amount. I'm going to get years of use out of that computer (well.. maybe not since I didn't bring it from home to this apartment, so it's just sitting idle waiting for me to remotely send it commands) so I don't mind dropping the cash on it.

>= 600? Greater than or equal to 600? Hell, look up "most expensive gaming computer" or "highest performance gaming computer 2014" and purchase that mofo.
Greater than less than is confusing sometimes.
6>2 vs 2<6?

I mean, aside from the fact that I just read the signs automatically as 'greater than' or 'less than' without even thinking about it, the way I got to that point was the old elementary school teaching that the 'alligator' mouth made by the sign eats the larger number because it's a more ideal meal. Since the original post was entitled ">= 600", the 'alligator' is eating a number greater than (or equal to) 600.

Yeah same, I had this down in third grade

Oh sorry,
Well if any one looks through and want to build something that will help alot

This tho
A better cpu and a better gpu later on would be great. Although the problem with prebuilts is they typically only have enough of a PSU to support what they need, so you may have to upgrade that as well

heer u go!!1111 http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2k7rqs
For the people who have seen this thread looking for good builds and can't tell: this is absolutely terrible; deliberately bad
