I honestly don't get why we learn things like algebra for 1 hour and 30 minutes a day when we never use it.

Think about your own bedroom and say you need a new carpet or some sort of flooring. Guess what! Length of room multiplied by width equals how much flooring you need. Similar concept can be applied for determining how much paint you need for painting. Sure you could just buy and guess how much you need, but that wouldn't be very efficient now would it?
