I'm not saying it lacks features. The iPhone has loads of features that a lot of people like. I'm just saying it lacks certain features that I like to have. Like a terminal emulator or a file manager.
Both of those are irrelevant to simplicity.

Well maybe I used the wrong word for it. I guess that you could say that iOS focuses on doing what it's users want it to do. I am not one of those users. I like to have complete control over my device, while iOS users couldn't give two forgets about control. They just want it because it does what they want it to, and it does that well. I dislike it because it does not do what I want it to do. It's merely a matter of preference.

I'm an iOS user and I give many forgets about control. Just not on my phone. I've got other devices for that.

Also, you've made it very clear that iOS doesn't do what you want it to do. So why are you here trying to convince other people that it isn't as good as other devices for them?

Out of curiosity, blueblur, what do you use the terminal so much for, anyway? I've never even touched the command line on my phone.

As a matter of fact, the most customization I've done on my phone is installed the Aviate launcher (which I absolutely love the forget out of). I can't see why you'd need so much out of a phone. I can understand why you'd want it to look pretty (which is why I'm using Aviate holy jesus christ) but it's not like I rely on my phone for life support.

That's because the software and hardware are developed by the same company.
That's a drawback for Android
I would much rather have it optimized then have multiple phone companies trying to regurgitate different features as gimmicks

only time i needed to use a terminal was when i was rooting an obscure ass tablet that nobody made an automatic software for. thats what its for. nothing else more.

looking cool

rooting, getting S-off, installing recovery, installing ROMs, installing mods, executing certain commands, installing even more stuff

a lot of things

a lot of things
those are basically all things that can be done easily within the ui

So pretty much everything you don't need to do. Right.

I appreciate how open of a platform Android is, but that's asking a lot out of a loving phone.

but then they wouldnt look edgy!

good luck rooting your phone/s-off/recovery/ROMs/backups/fresh resets without using adb

hey, just because you don't use it doesn't mean it isn't something of great interest to others

forget simplicity. I do complicated things.
let me guess. you also use green text on black background in your terminal to look like a hacker

nailed it

jokes on you there are already applications you can install on your phone that do that for you

depends on phone
on some phones theres that app that gives you temporary root (not full access so really you can't do any stuff) but further than that everything else I said is done through ADB, except for some functions through recovery

again dependent on phone but could you link me to an app that fixes hboot and gets S-off for a phone without using any sort of command line?
