Author Topic: Apple announces iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and Apple Watch  (Read 44976 times)

People act like iPhones are the mark of the devil, but honestly, I enjoy using my iPhone 5, and I am a very pro-technology person. I love my PC because it is capable of lots of powerful computing applications, like the terminal, for example. I don't care if my phone has a terminal or not, because it's very likely that I won't be using it anyways. I just use my PC for that kind of stuff. To me, phones are meant to be convenient and easy-to-use, just like iPhones are. Again, only my opinion, and I can understand why Andriod users love their phones, but it's not for me.

I like this point of view, and it's mostly correct, I don't think I ever used any terminal on my Android since I don't think anyone actually needs to.
However, you are wrong about the "easy to use", same as everyone else who says it's "easy to use". Android's complexity is comparable to Windows, not Linux. Just like you can use a iPhone out of the box, you CAN use an Android out of the box, without going deeper in the advanced settings and such. You have the option for deep customization and settings but only if you want to, just like Windows has thousands of settings and hidden settings, and can be configured. However, ain't nobody got time for that, many people just have stock Windows and never crawl in the Control Panel or through customization except putting a cat wallpaper or whatever.
Android isn't the Devil of user-friendly, just like the iPhone, it can be used out of the box without changing any setting. But you have the default choice to go deeper at any time, which is what iPhone doesn't from that perspective.

iphones are plastic pieces of overpriced, overused and overlooked garbage.
enuff said.

LOL

The Note 4 will be QHD.
seems like a waste of battery if you ask me

seems like a waste of battery if you ask me
good thing no one's asking you

good thing no one's asking you

No one asked your "opinion" when you threw up your garbage on this thread either, dipstuff.

So sad. Very little innovation. But they do it because they know people are stupid enough to buy it. I'll stick to my Android.

To be fair, most Android phones don't innovate much either between generations. It's just that Android itself started (well, once it got into the newer versions) out being more flexible/customizable and with more features.  Every year Android phones get what, a better camera, faster processor, and larger screen? That's the same as iPhones now.

Oh look, the plus version is the same resolution as every Android device released in last yeah. Too bad modern Android phones have a 2k resolution. And the standard one has the resolution of most low end Android phones! And they traded the old A7 chip for a newer A8 chip. Nice. Oh, but we're up to A17.
Meanwhile Android phones are soon to have 3GHz multicore processors with 3GB of RAM, while Apple stays at a single core 1.4GHz processor with 1GB of RAM.
Amazing apple. You're truly ahead of your time with the new iPhone.

But hey, fingerprint scanning technology. That's a cool feature. I mean, yeah, many Android phones have that, but this is something that's actually relatively new for Apple.

Looking at the numbers like that is useless. The iPhone 6's CPU is 25% faster than the iPhone 5s'. The iPhone 5s crushed the S4 on all tests, but let's add another 25% onto those scores.

5904.9 * 0.75 = 4428.68
So the iPhone 6 could score a 4500 here. The s4, in comparison, scores a 10770. That's almost 2.5x slower.

3451 * 1.25 = 4313.75
So here, the iPhone 6 could score a 4300. The S4 is over at 2570, almost twice as slow.

3347.69 * 1.5 = 5021.54
This one's a GL benchmark, and the graphics are expected to be 50% faster. The S4 has a whopping score of 842.68 -- SIX TIMES slower than the projected value for the iPhone 6.

Let me quote this one more time Steve ;)

Your 2k resolution wouldn't be able to push its boundaries anyway, because it's games aren't fully optimized like iOS. Where you can play games like Real Racing and Infinity Blade at its best at a smooth and consistent framerate.

Not being compatible with anything ever.

I, personally, hate iOS due to the fact that file managers and terminal emulators and a bunch of other stuff that should be allowed are not allowed on the app store. Like seriously, what the forget. They say that having an iPhone or iPad is like having a more portable computer, but that doesn't mean stuff if I can't do what I currently do on my computer. I should not have to jailbreak my phone in order to access a command line. Apple shouldn't purposefully limit what the device can do. Emulators of all kinds are not allowed on the appstore either. That's just bullstuff. There is no reason for emulators to not be allowed.
thisthisthis also loving iTunes is horsestuff, and Apple ID is horsestuff as well. I never have and never will own an apple product (excluding school issued iPad)

Why?
they try to integrate it with everything. If you don't want your account tied to an app, to bad it has to be. If your friend installs an app on your device, you need his Apple ID password to remove or update it even though it's your device. On android you literally just hit install and it's good, much less hassle.

Too bad modern Android phones have a 2k resolution.
Anything more than a retina display is useless because your eye cannot tell the difference between 1080p and 2k on such a small screen (assuming your head isn't directly up against the damn thing)

If it was a 20 inch monitor the story would be different, but this is a 5.5 inch screen we're talking about.

who the hell would even allow someone installing random apps on your own device? and why would it be their Apple ID and not yours?
it's your device.
