Author Topic: Microsoft is trying to buy out Minecraft.  (Read 3146 times)

I'd be down with Minecraft on Steam with workshop support.

Though the day that happens is the day the human race implodes upon itself.

I can see them just needing the rights to the title. So they can make a minecraft2.
The following alone will pay it off at release.

Lua is also object oriented so maybe it could work.
I meant C++. And why does a language need to be object oriented for you to make minecraft out of it? Any language that's turing complete works. (See: all of them)

Oh come the forget on.
Let me repeat exactly what I said earlier.

Oh, stuff you mean port the entire game to a different language. I thought you meant writing mods in a different language.
I can't see a full port working very well.

I was saying that modding using Lua while the game itself uses Java would work well because both languages are object oriented.
Why the forget would you port a game from Java to Lua.

that's what i was wondering

And program it in a language other than java.
Maybe if Microsoft bought it they'd add mod support to Minecraft
Mine craft is a giant mess of shotyy code
And with being so mod dependant for a following. It has zero mod support
These

Just because you don't think it's worth that much, doesn't mean it isn't. The gigantic loving community it has will likely disagree. I think that Microsoft is making a smart purchase if they go through with it.
link me to where it says that minecraft has a revenue or assets worth 2 billion

straight from wikipedia

maybe they'll give it the updates needed to make it an actual decent game instead of giving it bullstuff features for years

Maybe they'll add useful features in updates like dual wielding instead of frilly aesthetic updates.

maybe it'll be well made and fun??? who knows!
