a few obvious ones
1. anime was in fact inspired by american animation, like Disney.
2. north korea is armed and ready for nuclear war, but their weaponry is so primitive in comparison to the rest of the world, the likely chance of them winning is, well. impossible.
more interesting ones.
1. the first digital art ever created on the computer, was line art of a 60's pinup of a woman.
2. unfortunately, the two great wars and the cold war nearly destroyed humanity, but the technology made in those wars became domestic. and these wars have opened our eyes on our universe in so many ways it wasn't even funny, by theory, if another era of war begins. it will either kill us, or advance us even /further/ then before.
