Author Topic: Taboo And Friends Are Organizing A Titanfall Tournament - Any advice, folks?  (Read 944 times)

Have no doubt, we are professionals.

Flash back several weeks ago to thread #47 of The Fast General, formerly Titanfall General. WarSpirit, the previous primary host of Titanfall competitive events such as the SiTH Warz, decides to take a break from hosting competitive events after throwing a fit and accusing /tfg/ of playing with a hacker.

I jokingly proposed that /tfg/ should host a tournament, and one of my buddy's from the SiTH clan hits me up with some suggestions. Suddenly it was happening.

So here we are now. We've made decent progress towards, having more or less decided on rules, one of fellas with video history is working on a trailer, and I've gotten some outside folks requesting to be entered already. Does anyone here have any experience with organizing and running competitive events? I've already decided not to compete because it'd be too easy since the friend from SiTH whose been offering me advice told me right off the bat that it's impossible to compete and keep things orderly, but other than that I'm kind of at a loss. It's going to be tough to keep track of everything, and I know there are tools out there to help me do but I have no idea what they are.

also if anyone wants to participate, sure, hmu

unless you know these people in real life and are playing in the same room, holding a tournament is damn near impossible
