some additional mechanics I'm squeezing in a day before columbia's release:
claim throne
- if you have a royal marriage with the target country, you can make a claim for inheritance of the throne
- if the target country refuses your claim, you will enter a succession war with them
- if another country with a royal marriage claims the throne, you will enter a succession war with them
royal marriage
- can happen between two nations of the same distinct faith (eg protestant with protestant) in order to create a royal bond that can result in inheritance
- can also happen between two nations of separate but not heretic faith (eg catholic with protestant but not catholic with sunni islam) to form an impromptu union, cannot inherit throne
form coalition
- can either be an armed neutrality or armed hostility variant
- when any member of said coalition enters war with target of coalition, then all coalition members are called into war
enforce peace
- if you see two noobs tussling, you can threaten to intervene on one side in an attempt to end the war
support independence
- self explanatory
the rp will begin in november 1444
despite any related pretensions, the only two events that will carry over retroactively will be the hundred years' war between britain and france and the ottoman conquest of albania
all other conflicts and alliances (including vassalages) have been dissolved as a result and must be reestablished
