grab your mouse, click right side. the box drop down (personalize) then you will see it.

The menu is less cluttered. instead of having all sorts of programs in a variety of different colors and shapes popping up, i get a nice, organized list of every program. but to each their own i suppose

Whether you like it or not, it can be more convenient for some people (like me). I would never use the start menu for programs, I'd use tiles or typing because it is faster and more intuitive. I don't do things to "be a hipster", I do them because they make sense.
