Well to be fair, putting it up to someone's head to make a call is an important test for any phone.
Especially for the women who have long hair flowing over their ears.

Since I've never had any phone catch my hair somehow or another (yes, my hair goes over my ears), if the new iPhone is doing it, I'd call it defective.
