They cost more in maintenance then they produce and put people out of work, It's a waste of money.
I agree when you say it costs a lot. But it still produces a lot of energy at the same time. One 1.8 MW wind turbine at a reasonable site would produce over 4,700 000 kWh of electricity each year, enough to meet the annual needs of over 1,000 households
It creates jobs for people to build them and for people to do maintenance on them and for people to create new designs.
half the time when it's windy you don't even see them running either.
That's not entirely true, you can't be watching windmills 24/7 to say this is true.
also they decrease property value and sometimes cause health problems.
