Author Topic: Slopes heightmap  (Read 4340 times)

I need someone with great skill... (or not) to create a height map of the slopes. I starting a recreation project and I need this for reference on fixing up some strange terrain glitches from the original.

This image was stolen from phydeoux's post a while back. I was trying to use that as a reference, but it would be easier if it was height map.

wow, looking at that picture makes me feel even more like an idiot because i used to think that the complete drop was the front of the mountain and i barely even knew that the rest were actual paths made for skiing down
and now i've seen that the whole map is oriented towards the complete opposite direction ive been centering my focus on.

On the unrelated note: your name kinda fits this comment right here...

OMG MY WHOLE NOOB EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN A LIE. EVERYTHING i ever did, was spawn skis, ski down the wrong side and Self Delete. I need to get v20 working.

By the way: I opened a new thread in the Gallery. After one really long night without sleep (which I regret greatly) I present to you, a sorta, maybe functional version that you can view.

why not take slope images from Blockland Retail or V0002

why not take slope images from Blockland Retail or V0002
Because that's entirely useless for making a heightmap.

...Because there is no reason to.

I'm using the height map because it's way easier to read, if you got lighting and different angles going on it's very difficult to recreate properly.

...Because there is no reason to.

and I guess I don't really need anymore.
