I currently have no evidence either his description or perception of these people were not affected by his own personal bias on the subject, and given his wording in that and other posts, it is unlikely this is the only time he has jumped to a conclusion about people. It would be wrong for me just to assume he is wrong though, because I am not there and therefore have no idea of if these people are actually obtrusive.
I mean yeah ok, it is possible the only people in the club there are douchebags, but I mean considering how few people are actually douchebags compared to just being misinformed, it is more likely that either your reluctance to associate with these views lends to the further alienation and idea of it being extreme and thus causing you it interperate it as such unfortunately leading to an annoying perceptual feedback loop of sorts.
What I am trying to state but finding it hard without saying directly, if you want to dislike someone, dislike them on a personal basis, but not as their attributions to a group or the otherway around because it is placing unnecessary judgement on a larger sample you have no experience of or interaction with. Not that I am saying you should dislike anyone since unless they are actually like directly, and acklowedgingly, an starfish, whatever perceptions you have causing the dislike of them may very much stem from misinformation.
