Not really. Our college, believe it or not, was actually one of the most relaxed on the uniform laws. If you went to any of the top-tier high schools such as Sydney Grammar, they were supposedly like loving drill sergeants about that stuff.

I don't know a single Australian school (aside from tertiary Universities and Colleges) that doesn't have a uniform, and almost all of them are pointless.
I guess it's a varying factor. Wouldn't know how bad they really crack down on the dress code at my school but I'm guessing they're doing a good amount of work on it. It depends on the classes you go to and whether the teacher will actually care or not.

It's a waste of time at its base. I've only got like one good reason from a teacher as to why our dress code was useful.

It's mandatory in the US as well. But both public and private schools aren't a right.
And there are other alternatives.

I'm basically asking you all just to propose a rule you think would be good. I can't really discuss/debate unless we at least have that.
what're you implying >:[

so from what i read in the op this is a bait topic?

That I need to know exactly where you stand before I can debate you, basically.
Using terms like "just be reasonable" are vague, and people tend to have vastly different definitions of "reasonable".

Also, why do school uniforms usually include short skirts?
I mean you'd think that if you were gonna have a uniform, you'd make it modest, as that's sorta the point.

Why, instead of making only the girls wear dresses/skirts, make everyone wear dresses/skirts?

It'll be just like ta home in ta 'eyelands, laddie.

Honestly I wouldn't mind wearing a kilt to school.

Only way I can see it going wrong is if someone was a true scotsman and wore nothing underneath.

There is no true Scotsman, make everyone wear pants which are superior to dresses.

I hear the callings of the great highland winds

Trying to figure out what is worse, a canadian wearing a kilt or him posing in a kilt with the tag still on.

What bugs me is that he had to ask someone to take a picture of him wearing that kilt.

there's nothing under a kilt though, right?

would you like the convenience of pulling up the kilt and going right at it instead of doing the rig marole of taking their pants off
